Lance Corporal Patrick W. Schimmel

LCpl Shimmel will return to St. Louis by a private jet at 8:39 AM on Friday, August 14, 2009. A ceremony will take place at the airport. The procession will then drive to Winfield, Missouri to allow the community to honor a fallen Marine. The procession will then return to Baue Funeral & Memorial Center. Memorials may be made to the Marine Corps League or the USO. Schimmel, Lance Corporal Patrick, of Winfield, Missouri, died on Sunday, August 9, 2009, at the age of 21 while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Dear son of Wayne M. and Mary Jean Schimmel; loving brother of Matthew R. Schimmel; treasured boyfriend of Linda Anderson; cherished nephew of Julie Lorenzo, Robert T. Schimmel, Jr., and Bryan Schimmel; loving cousin, friend, and Marine. He is preceded in death by Grandparents. Patrick was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps where he was assigned to Golf Company, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. He was a 2006 Graduate of Winfield High School where he participated in Cross Country. He was also a Boy Scout.
