Larry F. Unser, 64Born September 15, 1950, Decatur, IllinoisPassed peacefully in the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2014, in Creve Coeur, Missouri, due to Pancreatic Cancer.
He graduated from: University of Missouri at St. Louis; Marian University, class of 1972 (Indianapolis, IN); and St. Teresa High School, class of 1968 (Decatur, IL).
He worked as an accountant, certified personal financial advisor, controller and, later, was self-employed in trucking.
In his younger years, Larry signed with professional baseball, the Cleveland Indians in 1972 and San Francisco Giants in 1974, and, later, was an avid softball team participant.
He most recently resided in suburban St. Louis (Wentzville), Missouri.
He is survived by a son, C. Drew Unser of Los Angeles, CA; and also survived by his siblings Jan (Unser) Mangold of Pleasanton, CA; Al J. Unser of Tulsa, OK; Del Unser of Scottsdale, AZ; Colleen (Unser) Plebanek of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; Elaine (Unser) Mills of Peoria, IL; Jerry Unser of Little Rock, AR; and Annette Unser of St. Louis, MO.
Larry loved children and will be missed by his three step-daughters Brandi Frye, Dusti Braschler, and Audi Williams, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and Al Unser, and his beloved Aunt Lena Unser, all of Decatur, IL.
Larry's family and friends will celebrate his life during an open house beginning at 4 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Miller's Crossing, 14157 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO 63017.
At Larry's wishes, memorials should be made to a charity of your choice.
