Larry E. Fritsche, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of 44 years to Susan Fritsche (nee: Boyer); cherished son of the late Lester and Mary Fritsche; devoted father of Eric (Meghan) Fritsche, Elliot (Amy) Fritsche, and Elizabeth Fritsche; loving grandfather of Samantha, Max, Luke, Evie and Gwen; dear brother of Diane (Richard) Steiner, Judy (Bob) Reed, Twin Sister, Linda (the late Rick) Melton and the late Janis (Hal) Olsen. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to so many.
Larry retired from Schnucks Markets in 2007 after 37 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed barbecuing and was proud of several first-place ribbons from BBQ competitions in the St. Louis area. But he took even more pleasure in cooking for those he loved most. From playing the role of tailgate chef at fraternity and sorority functions at Mizzou, to serving hundreds of friends and employees at Schnucks picnics, Larry was most comfortable in front of the grill. He was an avid sports fan and planned many of his days in retirement around the Cardinals, Blues or Mizzou Tigers schedule. Family and friends meant the most to him and he was always the life if the party, but also knew how to make people feel special when it was just you and him. “Larry’s Garage” was the site of many laughs and in-depth conversations. It was his happy place and it will always be remembered for that.
Larry was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
