Laura Betty Cherniawski, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the age of 91. Devoted mother of Anthony (Suzanne) Cherniawski, Peter (Connie) Cherniawski, Alexander Cherniawski, Christine (Dennis) Fellie, Paul Cherniawski, Cynthia (Michael) Fagan, George Cherniawski, Mark Cherniawski, Stella (the late Donald) O’Brien, Francis (Jan) Cherniawski, Laura (David) Spinnett, Matthew Cherniawski, Patrick (Monica) Cherniawski, Mary (Paul) Pawloski; loving grandmother of 31 grandchildren; treasured great-grandmother 29 great-grandchildren; dear sister of Janet (Chuck) Houston; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Laura is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Rokita Sr., her mother, Stella Rokita, her siblings, Helen Dezenski, Angeline Musthaler, Stanley “Bill” Rokita Jr., Mary Teper, Anthony Rokita, Irene Rotika and Virginia Sochoki. Laura was a member of the Polish American Club in Caro, MI for many years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, cooking and baking in her free time. She also enjoyed playing pinochle, euchre and Scrabble. The thing she loved doing the most was spending time with her family. Laura was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
