Lavada Ruth (Kirk) Robertson, 80, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2022 following a short illness. She was born on April 10, 1942 outside Louisville, Mississippi to Alvin Earl and Enid Claire (Schoolar) Kirk. She married Bobby Ray Robertson on February 14, 1961 and they worked on the farm for the first few years of their marriage before moving to Chicago. Throughout their married life, they lived in Cicero, Illinois, St. Charles and Springfield, Missouri and Kosciusko, Mississippi.
Lavada had various jobs throughout her life, but her chief role was homemaker. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was known for her compassion. She loved gardening, listening to music, reading and writing in her journal.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Lola, Roger and Ralph Kirk. She is survived by her husband Bobby, her children Barry (Jim Newton), Byron (Kevin Cherry) and Sharon (Don Winkeler), her grandchildren Ashton Robertson, Daegan Robertson-Keithley, Rowan and Fiona Robertson-Murphy, her siblings Randolph, Sam (Barbara) and Kathryn Kirk, her sisters-in-law Margie Hart and Gloria Kirk and her brother-in-law, Cecil Robertson.
Memorials may be made in Lavada's name to a Charity or Church of Donor’s Choice.
