Laverne Marie Dickenson

Laverne Marie Dickenson (nee Potter), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Lee Dickenson; treasured daughter of the late Lewis and Beulah Potter; loving mother of Teri Bennett; dear step-mother of Marie (Michael) Pfeifer, Barbara (Timothy) Tabers, Susan (Greg) Ketts, Veronica (Roger) Smithson, and the late Celia Langston and Elizabeth Allen; cherished sister of the late Gerald Potter, William Potter, and Shirley Follon. Also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Laverne had a special place in her heart for all animals (especially her dog, Spike) and loved visiting the St. Louis Zoo to see her favorite animal, the giraffe. She had a fantastic sense of humor and was always laughing, even at herself and her husband. For fun, Laverne liked to sit down and watch a good movie – especially old, black and white musicals which were her favorites. Above everything, Laverne loved spending time with her family and friends and treasured the memories they made over the years. Laverne’s selfless, kind, and empathetic soul was a tremendous source of comfort for her loved ones and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
