Lawrence C. “Larry” White of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Beatrice White.
Larry is survived by his wife, Margot White; his children, Stephanie Lee (John) Loda, Melissa Ann White, and Amy Rebecca (Ron) Taylor; his five grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Elizabeth Lee White, James Francis (Patricia) White, and Sister Mary Patricia White.
Larry attended Chaminade High School. He received his Bachelors' Degree in 1989 and his Masters' Degree in 1996, both from Lincoln University. In 1983, he received his certificate from Northwestern University in Police Administration. He served with U.S. Army from November 1962 until November 1964. Following his military service, he worked for First National Bank of St. Charles and was in banking for ten years. In 1974, he entered the Missouri Highway Patrol Academy and was retired as a Major in 1998. His career in the Patrol included - aircraft division, both fixed and rotary; Governors' Task Force to investigate the State Prisons; staff writer on the Automated Fingerprint System (AFIS), First Director of Professional Standards Division and served as commander of the Technical Services Bureau.
After his retirement from the Patrol, he taught Criminal Justice at UMSL and St. Charles Community College. He enjoyed flying, both fixed wing and rotary. His love for the outdoors included a farm he owned for several years. He was a real student of Irish history and constitutional law. Larry was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Clayton, Missouri. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
