Leon LeRoy Hill, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 77. He was the beloved husband of Linda Sue Hill (McRoy) and the cherished son of the late Hilda and Roy Hill.
Leon and his beloved wife, Linda, shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, enjoying their time together showing dogs, going on cruises, bowling, and actively participating in various veterans' organizations. He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a dedicated member of American Legion Post 313, VFW Post 2866 in St. Charles, the 40/8 Voiture 1541, and AMVETS in St. Peters. His passion for camaraderie extended beyond his military service. Leon founded both the Gateway Toy Dog Fanciers and the Gateway Non-Sporting Club and served as president of the St. Louis Dog Breeders Association.
Known for his kind heart, good sense of humor, and easygoing nature, Leon was a people person who would do anything to help others, and always strived to do right by them. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Leon was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Don Hill Sr. (Virginia Hill); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Ima McRoy; aid his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Margaret (John) Parks, Walter Lee McRoy Jr., Lillian Kelly, and Mary (Robert) Bunting.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, William R. Kelly, Leon was a treasured uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Leon's name to a veteran’s organization of the donor's choice.
