Leona Frances Smith, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Buffalo, Missouri on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the age of 94. Beloved daughter of the late Clifford R. and Lydia Belle Stoner.
On September 7, 1943, Leona married Arthur W. Smith, Jr., and from their union came four daughters, Dolores Marie (Steve) Mills, Linda Kaye Wolfe, Pamella Sue (Phill) Coy, Beverly Jean Steveson. Years later came her cherished grandchildren, Robin Marie (Brian) Nestel, Steve (Leah) Mills, Jr., Tina Marie Overbey, Terri Lynn (Kirt) MacManus, Phillipp D. (Nicole) Coy, Aaron S. (Mary) Coy, David A. (Sarah) Coy, Michelle R. (Kurtis) Luff, Michael A. (Meghan) Steveson, II, and Daniel J. Steveson; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, her daughter, Dolores, her dear brother, Robert (Mildred) Stoner and sister, Delores (Rudolph) Surrey.
Leona retired after more than 10 years from UPC Publishing as supervisor of the typesetting department. She was devoted to her faith and loved going to church, and she was a member of Cornerstone Apostolic Church for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting. Leona will be remembered for her joy and endearing laugh. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
