Lexie B. Mordis

August 25, 1939 — November 19, 2021

Lexie B. Mordis, of Saint Ann, MO, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at the age of 82.  

He was born to the late John and Jewuel (nee Rushing) Mordis on August 25, 1939, in Cayce, Kentucky. Lexie was married for 52 years to his beloved Ms. Judy, (nee Young). Beloved father to Lisa (Shane) Seals, the late Lexie Jr., Daniel, Donald, and Laurie (Jon) Moore. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Larry) Kile, Donald Mordis Jr., Melanie (Ian) Quinn, Rhiannon (Jake) Miller, and Jon Moore Jr. Much loved great-grandfather of Morgan, Bohdan, Gabriel, and Silas Quinn, Charlie Lynn Brunckhorst, Kelsey Kile, and Jace Miller. Lexie is survived by siblings, Joyce (Edward) Dietzel and Gary (Anne) Mordis, sisters-in-law, Jacquetta (Jim) Wall, Patricia (Elton) Mordis, Donna (Jimmie) Mordis, and Anna (Bryan) VanGilder, brothers-in-law, Gary and Joseph (Brenda) Young, and many nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; and infant son, Lexie Jr.; siblings, John Jr. (Elizabeth), Chester, Patsy (Edward) Tracy, Richard, Linda Fay, Elton (Patricia), Jimmie (Donna), Glen (Patsy), Debra, and sister-in-law JoAnn (Richard) Wall. 

Lexie retired from Bi-State Development after 37 years of service as a bus driver and foreman. He had many fond memories of his years there and was proud of the work he did. He was a respected friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

He enjoyed going to listen to Bluegrass and classic country music and spent many happy times with Judy, friends and family going to hear the Silver Wings Band at Hatfield’s restaurant and other locales. He enjoyed working outdoors and woodworking projects. 

Memorials may be made in Lexie's name to NHC Nursing home in Maryland Heights or your local nursing home, American Diabetes Association.

The family is requesting that every guest wear a mask upon entry.
