Lillian Mae Wallut (nee Smythe), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late, Richard George Wallut; beloved daughter of the late Kenneth and Ilona Smythe; devoted mother of Gary (Cindy) Wallut, Wendy Wallut, Kenny Wallut, Laurey Wallut, Rich (Judy) Wallut, Eric (Leila) Wallut, and Alex (Jeanie) Wallut; cherished grandmother of Jesse, Jason, Jerald, Scott, Michelle, Marshall, Cole, Sam, Seth, and Spencer; treasured great-grandmother of Hayvin, Kavic, Neven, Corbin, Alec, August, June, and Lincoln. Lillian is also preceded in death by her twin sister, Rosalie Propf.
Lillian had a sweet and kind personality. Everyone gravitated to her. Not only being a devoted mother, she was also a trusted mother figure to her children’s friends. She was a wonderful wife and took immense pride in taking care of those she loved. Nothing else in life was as important as family was to her. She had a warm heart and never judged anyone. She was supportive and championed those causes dear to her family. She was a woman of faith—especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. Lillian (Lillie) loved to sew and garden. She enjoyed cultivating both floral and vegetable gardens. In addition to raising her seven children, she was a nurse’s aid, Memorial Hospital (Baltimore), and St. Mary’s Sisters of the Most Precious (O’Fallon). She was also an election pole worker and an Avon lady. Lillian was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Lillian's name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Louis.
