Linda Sue Brune

December 13, 1951 — August 1, 2024

Saint Charles, Missouri

Linda Brune, born on December 13, 1951, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2024. Linda was a beloved sister to her surviving brothers, Jim and Charlie, and her sisters, Judy, Mary and Nancy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Christine, and her sister Patsy. A devout Catholic with a deep devotion to Mary, Linda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She touched many lives in the many parishes she was involved with in the St. Louis area. She was a passionate advocate for the unborn and a dedicated supporter of the Pregnancy Resource Center in Rolla, MO, where she made significant contributions to the community. Linda enjoyed a fulfilling career as the Senior Director of Events Management at Maritz Travel, where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 2020. Her role allowed her to see the world and touch countless lives through her work and personal interactions. Known for her charitable nature and giving spirit, Linda was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.

Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, and she faced this illness with bravery and strength. Throughout her treatment, she remained positive and focused on the things that brought her joy – her work, her family, and most importantly, her faith. She was driven to use her illness to provide help and hope to others in similar situations; Linda was always sharing her stories and signed up for experimental treatments to help further the research in beating cancer. She was unfortunately diagnosed again with (ovarian) cancer in 2022 and fought with just as much bravery as she did the first time. She finally won the race as she is now in peace with her maker. She left a legacy that will be read through generations, current and to come. Linda left a mark in our hearts, and nothing will ever be erased. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave to others.

Services for Linda’s eternal rest will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Saint Patrick’s Church in Rolla, MO with burial at Rolla Memorial Gardens. The details are in work and will be shared with family and friends as they are finalized. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Rolla, MO.
