Linda Shand

August 19, 1955 — February 21, 2019

Linda Charlene Shand (nee Potter) passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the age of 63.

She is survived by her granddaughter Celeste Potter; daughters, Christine Potter and Tracy Tanaka; brother Steven Potter (Dot); sisters Joyce Bishop (David) and Shary Wilkinson; beloved nieces, nephews and close friends. She will be missed by all.

Linda was born in Pikeville, Ky. She moved with her family when she was three years old to New Mexico, then to Missouri in 1964. In 1973 She moved to Arizona where she worked for many years at IBM in Tucson. Linda moved back to St. Louis in 2000 to be close to relatives. She has worked for TSA for the past 17 years. Linda was a Coordination Center officer (CCO).

She was looking forward to retirement to be able to work on her favorite projects, her flower garden, artistic projects and taking care of her beloved pets, cats Leo and Darcy and her little Conure, Baby Bird (BB).

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at St. Charles Memorial Gardens (3950 West Clay, St. Charles) at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 8th. There will be a celebration of Linda’s life in the fellowship hall at First St. Charles United Methodist Church (801 First Capitol Drive, St. Charles) afterwards until 4:00 in the afternoon.

The family requests contributions to the World Bird Sanctuary, 125 Bald Eagle Road, Valley Park, MO 63088 or a charity of your choice.
