Linda Hoffman Swanson

Linda (Lynn) Hoffman Swanson (63) passed away on April 4, 2023, at her home in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Lynn was born on August 31, 1959, to Helen & Bill Hoffman in St. Charles, MO. She leaves behind Gary Swanson and five siblings: Lori (Steve) Grupas, Craig (Lynette) Hoffman, Eric “Butch” Hoffman, Leslie (Scott) Miller, and Mitch (Amy) Hoffman.

Loved beyond belief, Lynn’s family will miss eating her delicious cooking (even the gazpacho), going on vacations together (whether it be in an RV or millennium cruise) and shopping till we drop looking for cute clothes and accessories.

More than anything, Lynn was a devoted and fun aunt to her many nieces and nephews including Brian (Kristin) Grupas, Kyle (Tiffany) Grupas, Alex Grupas, Jessica Hoffman, Abigail Hoffman, Zach Hoffman, Erica (Justin) Wolfrum, Will Hoffman, Sydney Miller, Mitchell Miller and Jake Hoffman. She was known to fly halfway across the country at the drop of the hat to celebrate a birthday or holiday with her favorite kids. She took them to all the fun places and showered them with love and attention. She was a favorite aunt and an important person in all of their lives.

After graduating from Francis Howell in 1977, Lynn went on to attend Lindenwood University. She then pursued a career in the legal field working at several St. Charles law offices. In 1985, Lynn went on the cruise of her life, where she met her husband of many years, Gary Swanson. Lynn loved traveling almost as much as she loved her family. She also had a passion for running marathons, an eye for interior design and was an avid supporter of the Leukemia Society.

Her light will be missed by all those who knew her. Memorials may be made in Lynn’s name to the Leukemia Society or Community Living.
