Linda was born in Pittston, PA, but spent most of her childhood in Albuquerque, NM; Buffalo, NY; and St. Charles, MO. She was a 1972 graduate of Lindenwood College, earning a BA in Communications. Her education continued at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where she earned an MA.
Entering the world of television journalism after her degrees, she worked in several states, but most of her professional life was spent at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, where she won a Regional Emmy as news producer of flood coverage. After retiring from news production, she became an Academic Advisor in Webster University’s Communications department, and, as an Adjunct instructor, taught courses in television history and travel journalism. She retired from Webster several years ago.
Linda’s greatest joy came from her family and her Scottish heritage. Her mother was from Scotland, and her father was born in the USA from Scottish immigrants, so Linda loved trips to Scotland, especially her mother’s island, the Isle of Arran. Linda’s love of Scottish music led her to join a local bagpipe band as a beginning tenor drummer, one who became so accomplished that she taught many others the intricacies of the tenor drum.
Linda also enjoyed visits with her family over the years, holidays being a favorite, with many funny stories about Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, and Christmas.
She was known for her big smile, twinkling blue eyes, and iconic laugh.
