Linnie Lowery began life’s journey on May 28, 1949 in Dallas County, Arkansas born to the late W.G. Grant and Cleaster Dawn and Ezekiel Harrison. She passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 in her home.
Linnie had a lifetime of faithful service to Jehovah. She was baptized in 1972 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Linnie loved the company and fellowship of the friends. She loved doing whatever she could in Jehovah’s service. She always talked about how strong her faith was in Jehovah and she wasn’t afraid of dying because of her hope of the resurrection.
Linnie married McElroy Lowery in 1965. To this union, four children were born. She worked as a dental assistant until she and her family relocated to Meadville, MO in 1977. Her family would later settle into St. Peters, MO in 1980 where they raised their children.
Linnie would go on to earn her master’s degree in cosmetology and was a licensed instructor in St. Charles County area. During her career, she became the first African American beautician to own and operate a salon serving the surrounding areas of St. Charles County.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, and gammie, who had a unique way of matching her demeanor with each of her family’s individual personalities. She did this with just the right amount of love, listening, disciplining and encouragement.
Linnie was proceeded in death by one grandchild, Mia Marcano, two sisters, Francis Robinson, and Patricia Carroll, four brothers, Teddy Dawn, Cleophus Dawn, Ezekiel Harrison Jr and Tracy Harrison.
She is survived by her husband McElroy Lowery, stepmother Maelean Harrison, four Sisters Virginia Dawn, Lori Carey (Dwight), Cynthia Wright, Rosemary Williams (Dawson) and two brothers Tracy Dawn, and Ricky Harrison (Phyllis). Four children, Pamela Lowery-Green, Michael Lowery (Mitzi), Patricia Henderson (Derrick), Melinda Howard (Wiley). Seven grandchildren, Leonard Lowery, Jasmine Green, Darian Wilson, Jalessa Edwards, Mackenzi Lowery, Mason Lowery and Aliyah Marcano. Eight great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
