Lloyd James Morey of St. Peters, MO, passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Carol Morey; his children, Lisa (Rob) Stepanek, Susan (Don Wallace) Morey, and Steven (Alicia) Morey; his grandchildren, Rachel, Ethan, and Lauren Stepanek, Michael & William Wallace, and Noah & Ella Morey; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther (Shorty) Hartman and Frederick Morey; and his siblings, Fred Morey, Maggie Friesner, and Irene Hoover.
Lloyd proudly and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Lloyd was fond of playing bridge and was always up for a game. He had family in Florida and Texas and enjoyed the trips he took to go visit and catch up with them. In his younger years, he was an accomplished angler who participated in bass fishing tournaments. He was a talented singer who was always ready to lend his deep bass voice to the church choir at First St. Charles United Methodist Church where he worshipped.
After retiring, Lloyd took up small jobs here or there as he liked to stay busy and socialize, making friends easily and everywhere he went. Lloyd took to watching wildlife in his later years and he enjoyed the sense of peace his love for nature brought him. The ability to play the harmonica was a unique talent of Lloyd’s, and he would regale friends and strangers with a song. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials may be made in Lloyd's name to
the Alzheimer's Association.
