Lola Kathryn "Kitty" Long

September 4, 1936 — April 5, 2025

O'Fallon, Missouri

Lola “Kitty” Long (nee Bartlett), of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Charles William Long; cherished daughter of the late Vivian and George Bartlett; devoted mother of Charles (Lora) Long, Sr.; loving grandmother of Heather Lee, Charles K (Kara) Long, Jr., and Rachel Long; treasured great grandmother of Kyle, Hailey, Freya, Chucky, Christopher, Connor, and Aerith. Kitty was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Talmadge Bartlett, Roy McLaughlin, and Melba Sherell, and her nephew, Talmadge "Buddy" Bartlett.

Lola, affectionately known as "Kitty," was a loving, friendly, and quick-witted woman with a heart as big as the world. She was married to her beloved husband, Charles, for 72 wonderful years before his passing and was the cherished matriarch of her family. A dedicated member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, she found great joy in raising money for St. Jude and attending conventions with friends. Kitty gave her heart and soul to her family and friends, always encouraging others to succeed and finding happiness in seeing people laugh and enjoy life. She was an avid Facebooker, as it was an outlet for her and allowed her to keep in contact with many new friends who will miss her dearly. She also adored her pets—Rosie, Ozzy, Claire, Lily, and Ivy—and will be remembered as a sweet, supportive, and selfless woman. Kitty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Kitty's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
