O'Fallon, Missouri

Lonnie D. Horton, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the age of 60. Loving husband of Debbie Scharer; beloved son of Geraldine and the late Otto E. Horton II; dear father of Bethany (Chris Follin) Leisure, Katherine Horton, Diana Horton, and Theresa; cherished grandfather of Daniel Miller, Ajay Orellana, Ava Orellana, and the late E.J. Orellana; dearest brother of Steve (Sandy) Grover, Carl (Sandy) Horton, Shirley (the late Mike) Waters, Tim (Marla) Horton, Chris (Stephanie) Horton, Joe Horton, Jerry (Lesley) Horton, Bonnie (Robert) Pierce, and the late Otto Earl Horton, III. 

Lonnie had a determined personality and loved to share his opinions. He met his wife, Debbie, while working at Miller Container. After he flirted with her for a while, Debbie agreed to go out with him. Lonnie loved spending time with his grandkids. He loved his riding lawnmower and liked to help his neighbors by mowing their lawns. Lonnie was very charitable to the CARE organization to fight world hunger and global poverty. 

In his free time, Lonnie loved to build computers. He did it for years and still has so many spare parts. He was intrigued by UFOs and had many conspiracy theories about them. Lonnie loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed cooking and creating dishes from all kinds of unique ingredients. 

Lonnie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Lonnie's name to the National Down Syndrome Society.
