Loren Ray Brandon

Loren Ray Brandon, of Elsberry, MO, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Mildred Evelyn Brandon; cherished son of the late William and Stella Belle Brandon; devoted father of Clifton Ray (Lois) Brandon, Martha Sue Prater and Lora Lee (Greg) Scharnhorst; stepfather of Martin (Peggy) Dupree and the late Kevin Dupree; loving grandfather of Julie Burton, Clifton Ray (Melissa) Brandon, Jr., Jennifer (Tim) Liddy, Scott Christopher Dupree, Renee Victoria (Rob) Graeler, Anita Lynne Dupree, Ray (Christine) Prater, Joseph Prater, and Michael Prater; treasured great-grandfather of 21; great-great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Leon Brandon, Lorene Armstong, and Deloris (Gary) Hamilton. He is proceeded in death by his grandchildren William Wesley Brandon and Clay Welsey William Brandon, and his siblings Zella Faro, Emma Bateman, Billy Lee Brandon, Danny (Linda) Brandon, and Richard Brandon. Loren is also survived by his granddog, Ranger.  

Loren was a devoted father, husband and grandfather. He was a proud member of the carpenter’s union for 77 years and ran his own business, Brandon Builders Inc., for over 60 years. He employed over 88 people throughout those years. Loren was a hard worker who retired at 75 to care for his wife until her passing. 

Loren was very proud of his children, he was always there for their Little League games, achievements and going to the horse shows to support his daughter. 

In his free time he also enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball games and horse races. He loved his fishing and camping trips.  

Loren was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
