Loretta H. Kolkmeyer (nee Oetting), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Orville Reinhard Kolkmeyer; cherished daughter of the late Roland and Selena Oetting. Devoted mother of Joyce (Paul) Habighorst, Rebecca Thurman, Scott (Lisa) Kolkmeyer, Lisa (Ron) Lammert, and Randy Kolkmeyer; loving grandmother of Kaylie (Taylor) Donahue, Kelsey (Jared) Smothers, Jason Bennett, Julie (Andrew) Maxson, Justin Thurman, Gregory (Meredith) Kolkmeyer, Kristen Kolkmeyer, Alyssa Kolkmeyer, Cody (Taylor) Haislip, Courtney (Kaden DeVore) Haislip, Riley (Hannah Youker) Kolkmeyer, Lydia (Zack Perkins) Kolkmeyer, and Lyle Kolkmeyer; treasured great-grandmother of Austin Maxson, Emma Maxson, Isla Donahue, Duke Haislip, Nolan Kolkmeyer, Declan Donahue, and 1 on the way in June; dear sister of Wayne E. (the late Joy) Oetting and Harold (Pat) Oetting; sister-in-law of Dolores (the late Wayne) Owens; cousin/dear friend of Nancy Phillips; host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Ann Oetting and Judy Oetting, and two sisters-in-law, Adelle (the late Edward) Bargen, and Bernice (the late Herbert) Buenemann.

Loretta was an active member of Friedens United Church of Christ in St. Charles, Missouri, and a dedicated past member of the Women's Guild. She was also involved with the VFW Post 2866 Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary 312, and C & H Athletic Association Pinch Hitters, where she worked in the concession stand for 45 years. Loretta spent 20 years as a lunch attendant with the Francis Howell School District. In 1951, she met the love of her life, Orville, and they married on May 14, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri. Together, they were blessed with five children. Loretta was a St. Louis Cardinals fan with a deep love for sports and cherished attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Loretta was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Loretta's name to Friedens United Church of Christ for Capital Improvements.
