Loretta Marie Dillon

Loretta Marie Dillon (nee Thoele), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 85. Loving wife of the late Chester W. Dillon; beloved daughter of the late Frank Thoele and Lillian Koester; devoted mother of Travis (Christy) Dillon, Alice (Steven) Hard, Doris Heppermann, Linda Blevins, Bill (Kathryn) Dillon, and Lisa (Richard) Beckmann; cherished grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 32. Loretta is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne H. Heppermann; brothers, Melvin and Vernon Thoele; and sisters, Elvira Estes and Florence Estes.

Loretta was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She owned and operated a tax preparation business out of her own home. She liked spending time outdoors working in the garden and fishing. Loretta also enjoyed working on sewing projects, listening to big band music and religious hymns. Loretta loved to read mystery books, especially novels by Zane Grey, and playing games with her children. She was a wonderful mother who was attentive to her children's needs and taught them to be self-sufficient. Family meant everything to Loretta. Loretta was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Loretta's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
