Lovely “Buddy” J. Kirchharr

Kirchharr, Lovely "Buddy" J., of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the age of 76. Loving husband of Peggy Yu Kirchharr; beloved son of the late Lovely and Mary Kirchharr; devoted father of Maria (Greg) Maxon; cherished grandfather of Kayla (Nathan) Woodland, Krystal Maxon and Kandyce Maxon; adoring great-grandfather of Hope Avery Woodland and Braylon Jacob Maxon; valued brother of Zennie (Bill) Walker. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Louise Jurnigan, John Lee Kirchharr and Hazel Durant. Lovely served 20 years in the Army. During his military service, he served in various assignments as a Military Policeman at home and abroad including, Korea, France, and Vietnam. He earned the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal with Bronze Star, and Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal. He retired in October 1974 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
