Lucie Ann Phillips of O'Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 79 on Saturday, April 4, 2020. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracey Vinson; and her parents, Cecil and Ellen Hackley.
Lucie is survived by her children, Christopher (Todd Graham) Phillips and Nikki (Daniel) Simpson; her son-in-law, Roger Vinson; grandchildren, Sebastian Simpson, Skylar Simpson, Adrian Vinson, and Sydni Vinson; and her sister, Linda (Robert) Schwartz.
Lucie was born in Columbia, MO but moved and grew up in the city of St. Charles. She attended St. Charles High and graduated in 1958. Over the years she worked as an administrative assistant for McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) and Consolidated Aluminum but spent most of her career as an office manager and bookkeeper in the home building industry which she was very passionate about, working for Banze Construction and RE Builders. She finally retired from her last job with the church she loved so much, Cornerstone Methodist of O’Fallon. She reflected fondly on her career and always reiterated just how much she enjoyed working in an office and the bosses she admired over the years.
Her many hobbies included bowling, dancing competitively, playing pool, sewing, decorating, designing and building new homes. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing games. She had a great love for animals and had a huge heart and a habit of rescuing strays. Her final cat, Lizzie, was the absolute love of her life.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Sunday, 6/28/20.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lucie’s honor to
the APA Adoption Center or
Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
