Primeau, Lucille E., (nee: Dickherber), of St. Charles, MO, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Gilbert P. Primeau; cherished daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Dickherber; devoted mother of David (Joyce) Primeau, Gilbert “Wayne” (Tish) Primeau, and Donald Primeau; loving grandmother of Monica (Dave) Seckel, Brett (Robin) Primeau, Tony (Lisa) Primeau, Teri (Tony) Brown, Tina Primeau, Tami Primeau, Shawn (Sequoyah) Primeau, and Melissa (Steve) Clevenger; treasured great-grandmother of GiGi, Philip, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Amelia, Louis, Phoebe Lucille, Tonya, Noah, Isaiah, Shawnna, Kennedy, Hanna, and Paisley; dear great-great-grandmother of Tatianna and Tylan; cherished sister of Helen Illy, Estelle Ostmann, Rita LaBarge, Floyd Dickherber, Sylvia “Babe” (Frank) Timmermeier; dear sister-in-law of Harland Heck and Delores Dickherber. She was also a loving aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.
Lucille was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Primeau; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Primeau; and her siblings, Dorothy Miller, Mildred Sauer, Laverne Heck, and Maurice “Sonny” Dickherber.
One of Lucille’s greatest passions was being a seamstress. She started quilting when she was a little girl. She went on to teach quilting at Huning’s and in her home. Lucille made quilts for many organization including First Responders, Crisis Nursery, and the Sheriff’s Dept. Lucille will be always be remembered as the best quilter around. Lucille also enjoyed gardening in her spare time and had a love of roses. She even spent a few years as a nanny when she was younger, but most recently enjoyed caring for her great-grandchildren. She was also known for her fabulous chocolate chip cookies. Lucille was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #2866. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the 1st Capitol Squares of St. Charles and St. Peters Square Dancing Club. More than anything else, Lucille truly loved her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and especially the staff at Breeze Park in the REACH short stay and the Sycamore Valley neighborhood.
Memorials may be made for masses at St. Charles Borromeo or Sts. Joachim and Ann Church or Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Services, or St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
