Margaret J. Brown

Margaret June Brown (nee Grunden), of Raymore, MO, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Stephen Brown; cherished daughter of the late Amos Mahan and Lorna Scalph. Devoted mother of Shannon (Jerry) Gomez, Robert Shaunn (Sandy) Brown, Stephanie Oplinger, and Stephen Brown, Jr.; loving grandmother of 11; dear sister of Cleo and Virgil. 

Margaret had a deep passion for line dancing, which brought her great joy and allowed her to connect with others who shared her love for music and movement. In her younger years, her dedication to the art of dance extended beyond personal enjoyment, as she proudly served as president of the Greater St. Louis League of Square-Dancing Clubs, where she played an integral role in promoting and supporting the community she loved. She was also an avid reader, often losing herself in books that sparked her imagination and curiosity. Photography was another one of her favorite pastimes, as she enjoyed capturing special moments and creating lasting memories through her lens. Above all, Margaret treasured the time she spent with her family, cherishing every gathering and celebration. Margaret was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
