Margaret Carney

Carney, Margaret "Marge", of St. Louis, Missouri, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the age of 63. Beloved daughter of the late Auburn C. and June E. Carney; survived by her 2014 Grand Family and 15,000 Sisters and Brothers of Missouri Eastern Star and beyond and many close friends.

Marge was a 45 year member of the Eastern Star '“ Home Chapter No. 313. She was a Past Honor Queen of Bethel 32 Jobs Daughters, twice. She also served as Worthy Matron of Home Chapter No. 313 twice and as Secretary for 26 years. In 1979, she served as a District Deputy Grand Matron. Marge was appointed Grand Representative of Massachusetts in 1983 and later served as President of the Missouri Show Me State Grand Representative Club. In 1988 through 1991, she was the Secretary/Treasurer of the International Grand Representatives Association. She was appointed Grand Marshal of the Grand Chapter of Missouri as part of the 2010 Grand Family. Marge was elected the following year to the advancing line in Eastern Star and was presiding Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Missouri at the time of her death.

Marge was initiated into North Gate Court #6, Order of the Amaranth, in 2007. She served as Royal Matron in 2011 and was currently serving the station of Grand Wisdom for Missouri Grand Court.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 4:00-8:30 PM. Amaranth Service will begin at 7:00 PM followed by an Eastern Star Service. There will be an additional visitation on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 9:00 AM, with the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment Sunset Memorial Park at 12:00 PM.
