Margaret Louise “Lou” Eberhardt, an amazing woman full of warmth and wisdom, passed away on May 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family in her home at The Boulevards in St Charles MO. Born to Margaret and Wade Goldsmith on December 29, 1937, Lou’s smile and positive attitude were a joy and comfort to her family and friends.
After graduating from Walnut High School and determined to “get out of those hills” Lou moved from North Carolina to Illinois where she met Clarence “Bud” Eberhardt, the love of her life. Two became one when they were married on September 18, 1959, and started their life together. Welcoming a daughter, Catherine Louise, on May 13, 1960, and a son, Kenneth Joseph, 2 years later, on May 11, 1962.
Married for 65 years, Lou’s spirit and vibrancy for life will be carried forward by her beloved husband, Bud; her children, Cathy and Kenneth; her grandchildren, Samantha and Anthony; her great grandchildren, Charles “CT”, Caleb, Madison, and Sydney, along with a community of friends and extended family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
The services to honor and celebrate Lou’s life will be held at Baue Funeral Home Cave Springs, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles MO 63301. Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm, followed by the funeral service on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Baue Chapel.
