Margaret "Margie" B. Orf

Margaret (Margie) Bernice Orf (nee Davis) passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Donald Orf. She is survived by two daughters: Juliann Hercules (Daryl) and JoAnn Orf, five grandchildren: Jason Draut (Mandy Ferrel), Leah Wilson (Todd), Michael Sherman (Emily), Melanie Sherman, and Logan Hercules, six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Callie, Hudson, and Brooks Draut, Colten Taylor, and Hazel Sherman, sister Sandy Martin, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a multitude of friends at Lake St. Charles Retirement Center. 

Margie was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Fredericka Schrader Davis, 5 brothers (Freddy, LeRoy, Henry, Carl and Elmer) and 5 sisters (Alice, Doris, Mary, Betty and Ruthanne).  

Margie was born in West Alton, MO and moved to Portage des Sioux when she married Donald Orf in 1956. They raised their daughters there and eventually moved to St. Charles in 1978. 

Margie relocated to Lake St. Charles Retirement Center in 2017 and quickly made many friends. She enjoyed helping others, liked playing bingo and pokeno, and especially loved being with her family. Her sense of humor brought laughter to everyone. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In lieu of masses, memorials may be made in Margaret's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Salvation Army.
