Marge Dey

Marge Dey (nee Begnel), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 98. Marge is the beloved wife of the late Thomas Dey; devoted mother of Kathy (Bud) Ponze, Kurt (Audrey) Dey, Mark Dey and Becky Dey; loving grandmother of Billy Ponze, Nichole Townsend, Shannon Dey, Jordan (Luke) Shappard, and Taylor Bishop; treasured great-grandmother to Ella; cousin to Jimmy Begnel and his wife Linda; loving Aunt and Friend. Marge is also preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Begnel, and her siblings, Martha Fosha, Dottie (Pat) Kane, and Don (Philomene) Begnel.

Marge attended St. Joseph Nursing School in Alton and later returned to further her education, earning a Bachelor’s in Health Systems Management from Webster University. She was a dedicated and ambitious woman who had a highly successful career at Christian Northeast and Northwest hospitals, retiring as the Director of Surgical Services. Marge was an active member of AORN and regularly attended their conventions. She enjoyed staying active with daily walks and volunteering her time making hats for cancer care patients. In her free time, Marge liked indulging in bingo, tennis, golf, and her favorite game shows, but most of all spending time with family and friends. Marge was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
