Maria Fleecs

Maria Fleecs, age 80, of O’Fallon, Missouri, died October 16, 2020 in St. Charles, Missouri.

Maria was born on September 15, 1940 in North Platte, Nebraska to Alice and Gus Blackos. She attended grade and high school at North Platte where she graduated in 1958. On August 30, 1958 she married L. Ronald Fleecs at the Sacred Heart Church in Sutherland, Nebraska, following their wedding they resided in Lincoln, Nebraska, until Ron graduated from college in 1959 at which time they moved to Oshkosh where they resided until 1962. They then lived in Chappel, Nebraska for one year and then moved to Lincoln until 1972, at which time they moved to Beatrice. They then moved back to Lincoln in 2013 to continue their retirement. In 2019 they made the decision to be closer to family members, so they moved to O’Fallon, Missouri until the time of her death.

Maria is survived by her husband Ron; son Jeff (Susan) Fleecs of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter Jennifer Bohling of Yukon, Oklahoma, and son Jay (Brenda) of Norfolk, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Justin Batte, Evan Fleecs, Andrew Fleecs, Jaxson Fleecs and Kaitlyn Fleecs; and one great-grandchild, Clayton Batte.

Maria is preceded in death by her father Gus Blackos; her parents Cliff McPherson and Alice; sister Angie (Don) Milroy of North Platte, Nebraska; and two grandsons, Adam Fleecs and Jon Batte.

Maria was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and was a former member of the YMCA, Beatrice Parks and Recreation Board, United Way, YRI, Beatrice Clean City, Beatrice Senior High Parent-Teacher Council and the Children Guild. She was also manager of Mr. P’s Party outlet store in Beatrice for many years. She was a full-time mom raising three loving kids while being a volunteer to many organizations in Beatrice. Maria was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Maria's name to Alzheimer's Association.
