Marie Elena Beebe

Marie Elena Beebe 1940 – 2008 Marie Elena Beebe 68, died on Sept. 8 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Ks. She was born on July 29, 1940 in Belize City, Belize, the daughter of Hugh Weir and Rosalie (Menzies) Bishop. Marie married David E. Beebe of St. Charles, Missouri on May 19, 1961 in Albuquerque, NM. Most recently they have lived in St. Charles, Missouri, Baton Rouge, LA and San Antonio, TX. They have been Great Bend, KS residents for the last four years. Marie and David lived in Europe and the Far East and many points in- between during David's Military career. Marie had many occupations through the years including being a hair stylist, secretary, teaching English to Japanese professionals, a cake decorator, elementary school teacher and for the last nine years she was the care giver for four of her grandchildren on a daily basis. Marie enjoyed traveling and being with her family and friends. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Texas at the age of 56. Marie was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and the Altar Society. She is survived by her husband, David, of the home; mother, Rosalie Bishop , Miami, FL; a daughter, Dr. Marjorie M. Beebe of Great Bend, KS; a son, Robert (Vanessa) Beebe of Flint, TX. Grandchildren, Hannah, Abby, Eve, and Aaron Schifman, Great Bend, KS; Lauren and Katherine Beebe, San Antonio, TX; step-grandsons, Matthew and Jacob, San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by eleven brothers and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her father and son-in-law, Bradley Schifman.
