Marie Hume of Saint Peters, MO, passed away at the age of 81 on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Hume; her parents Roy and Katherine Harbur; and two brothers, Robert Harbur and John (survived by Jeanne) Harbur.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Lawrence Hume; her children, Teresa (Dave) Thompson, Kenneth (Kelly) Hume, Angela Stephens, and Randy Hume; her grandchildren, Christopher, Candice, Joshua, Kelsey, Emma, Kyle, Hayden, Mia, Ainsley, and Kaylee; her great-grandchildren, Aidan and Alaina; and her sister, Marian (the late Harold) Billington.
Marie met her husband, Lawrence, at a drive-in movie and together they shared the love of a lifetime that was like no other. They were truly inseparable soulmates and loved nothing more than to be in each other’s company. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of St. Peters and had the privilege of teaching Sunday School there. Marie worked at McDonnell Douglas as an electronic assembler where she was involved with installing the first HUD for the M-14. She was with Boeing for a total of 35 years. For fun, she enjoyed listening to music, gardening, or planning and experiencing a great vacation. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
