Marie Schulte of O'Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Schulte; her parents, Earl and Blanch Thorne; three brothers, Ronald Thorne, Vernon Thorne, Emory Thorne, sister, Jean (Thorne) Slider and her grandchildren, Jason N. Tidwell and Robin N. Smith.
Marie is survived by her children, Debbie (Jerry) Smith, Nancy (Rick) Tidwell, James (Patty) Schulte, Mike (Marlene) Schulte, Doug (Tracy) Schulte, Rick Schulte (Janet), Bill (Sue) Schulte, and Tammy (Jeff) Terry; her grandchildren, Gail (Scott) Cargill, Michael (Leslie) Smith, Amanda (Steve) Lowe, Justin (Erin) Tidwell, Adam (Cara) Tidwell, Joshua (Kristen) Schulte, Eric Schulte, Clint (Carlie) Schulte, Chase (Taryn) Schulte, Megan (Logan) Wiest, Cody Terry, Kaitlin Terry; her great-grandchildren, Jason (Lauren) Cargill, Matthew (Riley) Cargill, Luke Cargill, Sarah Burr, Ella Smith, Sully Smith, Mason Lowe, Brayden Lowe, Wyatt Tidwell, Walker Tidwell, Brody Tidwell, Arie Tidwell, Eva Schulte, Lily Schulte, Aubree Schulte, Brentley Schulte, Ella Schulte, and Colton Wiest; her great-great grandchild, Elena Burr; her siblings, David Thorne, Linwood (Joy) Thorne, and Waneta Laskie; and her many nieces and nephews.
Above everything, Marie loved to bring her large family together and host the holidays at her home where they all made many great memories over the years. She was fantastic in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her loved ones to enjoy. Marie had a very charming personality and was always known as upbeat, bubbly, and a pure joy to be around. She maintained involvement in the VFW through her activities with the Ladies Auxiliary. For fun, Marie liked to go out and attend bluegrass festivals where she could listen to the bands she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
