Marilu Florida Fordyce

Marilu Florida Fordyce (nee Henschel), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Fordyce; cherished daughter of the late Edward and Florence Henschel. Devoted mother of Frances "Darlene" (David) Payne, Mark (Vicki) Fordyce, Melanie (Curtis) Wilson, Shannon (Jerry) Minick, and the late William "Bill" Fordyce; loving grandmother of Tracy, Kelly, Todd, Rodney, Tyrone, Marcus, Bill, Curtis, Genesis, William, and Kate; host of many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marilu was married to William "Bill" in 1940 and married just shy of 65 years. She worked at The Arizona Bank (now known as Bank of America) for 26 years and retired as an assistant manager. In her leisure time, Marilu loved animals and reading. She had a special affinity for animals. Reading was another treasured pastime for Marilu. She constantly sought knowledge through books and used the power of words to fuel her intellectual growth.

Marliu loved her family more than anything. Serving as their foundation of love and support, she carved out precious moments with each loved one—cherishing every laugh shared and every memory made. Her selflessness extended beyond blood relations as she embraced those around her as part of her extended family. Marilu will be remembered for her exceptional character. She possessed a heart of gold and a kind soul that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Marilu believed in the power of compassion and made it a priority to help those in need. Whether it was lending an ear or extending a helping hand, she always went above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of others. She was a servant of God and loved helping others. One of the kindest people you would ever meet. Marilu was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
