Marilyn Mary Burnett

Marilyn Burnett (nee Wieczorek), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Melvin Burnett; cherished daughter of the late Helen and William Wieczorek; devoted mother of Mark Burnett, Michael Burnett, Merissa (Drew) Mesle, and the late Melvin Burnett Jr.; loving grandmother of Blase and Parker Mesle; dear sister of Lorraine (Robert) Cramer and the late Robert (Joanne) Wieczorek.

Family was Marilyn's top priority. Marilyn and Melvin shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, filled with cherished moments. They enjoyed outings to the Muny and watching football games together. She was deeply involved in the life of their autistic son, Michael working tirelessly to ensure he had the best quality of life possible. Marilyn was known for her caring nature and exceptional baking skills, often delighting others with her cookies and cakes. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where she not only shared food but also love and laughter with her family and friends. Her love for garage sales earned her the affectionate title of "garage sale queen." A devout Catholic, Marilyn found solace and joy in attending mass. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing her with strength and comfort. Marilyn deeply loved her grandchildren and took on the role of head of the household after her mother passed away, caring for everyone. Marilyn was the heart of her family, a source of unconditional love and support. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
