Marilyn Frances Prater (nee Marilyn O. Ottinger), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Leland Prater; cherished daughter of the late Franklin and Emma Ottinger; devoted mother of Craig (Patricia) Prater, David (Jackie) Prater, Brian (Christina) Prater, and Julia (Scot) Lane; loving grandmother of 10; treasured great-grandmother of 15; great-great-grandmother of 2; dear sister of the late Gloria McGrath.
Marilyn was a very active member of Immanuel UCC in Ferguson, MO. She worshipped God and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She retired from BJC where she worked as a nurse for over 25 years. Marilyn volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and visiting shut-ins. She was a proud member of the 49ers. Marilyn was a very giving person who was always kind and generous. She was a devoted mother and “Oma” and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
