Army Specialist Mark D. Blakey, Jr. stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas, died on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the age of 22. Beloved son of Cynthia Blakey, O'Fallon, MO, and Mark Blakey, Peoria, IL, cherished grandson of Kelly and Ann LaCombe, O'Fallon, and Richard and Rosalie Blakey, Ft. Meyers, FL, dear Godson of Ruby Lew and Steward Sevald; loving nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Sherteasiwa, and her son. Mark graduated from Ft. Zumwalt North High School in 2009, and excelled at wrestling and football, and joined the Army soon after. Mark was very proud to be a soldier in the US Army, and had returned from a tour in Iraq where his fellow soldiers and superiors state that he was an exceptional soldier, always willing to go the extra mile for his comrades.
