Ehlmann, 83, of St. Charles, asleep in Jesus on May 29, 2008 at home. He was born September 26, 1924 to Martin L. and Clara Ehlmann in Harvester, Missouri. Mr. Ehlmann was a certified welder for 25 years at Missouri Research Lab in Cave Springs, before retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy after WWII. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harvester, Internation Association of Machinists, taught adult Bible classes and high school Bible classes, Lutheran Laymen's League, and American Legion Post 312. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (nee Richterkessing) Ehlmann, two sons, Gerald of Columbia, MO and Daniel of St. Peters, MO, two daughters Joyce Kantz of Clawson, MI and DeAnn Els of Hermann, MO; three brothers and one sister, Francis, Carlton and Lucile Meyer of St. Charles, and Arlie of St. Louis and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Ehlmann, two brothers Harvey and Kurt, one sister, Jeanette Swan, and his parents. Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Monday, June 2, 2008, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 4:00-8:00 PM at Baue Funeral Home and on Monday, June 2, at church from 10 AM until time of service.
