Marlene Lix

Marlene “Marti” Lix (nee Licata), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at the age of 72. Beloved wife of 46 years to Gary Lix; cherished daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette Licata; devoted mother of Kimberly (Mark) Schuetz and Amanda (Matt) Cooper; loving grandmother of Brooklynne, Kaleb, Makayla and Kaiden; dear sister of Grace Ann Grysiewicz; Marti is also survived by a host of many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  

Known for her outgoing personality and welcoming spirit, Marti embraced an open-door policy that made everyone feel like family. Her genuine kindness and warmth created a sense of belonging for all who crossed her path. 

The holiday season held a special place in Marti's heart, as she was the mastermind behind unforgettable Christmas parties that brought together family and friends in warmth and merriment. Her home was a beacon of joy during these festive times, reflecting the love and care she poured into every celebration. 

Marti loved playing bingo and card games in her free time, creating countless moments of laughter and friendly competition. A seasoned shopper, Marti reveled in the thrill of discovering treasures and delights, turning even the most routine outings into adventures. 

Among Marti's favorite retreats was LVL, where she found joy in the tranquil surroundings. Her and her friends would go out for early breakfast after a full night of playing cards. 

Marti was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marti's name to American Diabetes Association and National Kidney Foundation.
