Marlon Exum, of Foristell, MO, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Linda Alberta Exum; born to the late H.B. Best and the late Mittie Bizzle; cherished son raised by the late Albert & Mittie Bizzle; devoted father of Oteria Michelle Exum and Jordan Matthew Exum; loving grandfather of Brynn Monae Exum, Zara Grace Exum and Zion Matthew Exum; loving uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many. Marlon is also survived by his special childhood friend, Billy Rae, whom he spent many Christmas Eve and Christmas Days with, growing up in LaGrange, NC; and his friends Frank and Genevieve Melvin of Fayetteville, NC, Lt. Col. Frank G. Melvin served with Marlon at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
Marlon was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the 285th Special Intelligence Squadron, Electronics Engineer Radar Specialist. Marlon spoke fluent Italian while on a five-year Tour of Duty with the United States Air Force in Italy. Marlon traveled to and served on the Joint Air Force Base of Pearl Harbor and Honolulu, HI. He was strong in his Catholic faith; a parishioner of St. Barnabas Church for many years and more recently, a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Marlon was known for his humble, giving nature and he always made everything nice and comfortable.
Marlon was extremely intelligent with his Electronics and Computer skills. He built a robot for Emmanuel Lutheran Elementary School Wentzville, MO where his son attended school. Marlon enjoyed building model airplanes and cars. He loved grilling during the summer, but Christmas was one of his favorite holidays and he dedicated a great deal of time decorating for the season. Marlon was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Marlon's name to Parkinson's Foundation.
