Marshall “Dale” Gipson

October 7, 1941 — August 11, 2021

Marshall “Dale” Gipson, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Loretta “Kay” Gipson; cherished son of the late Marshall Jewel and Gladys Thelma Gipson. Devoted father of Sandy (Joe) Howard and Debbie (Todd) Wolfmeier; loving grandfather of Nathan Howard, Audrey Howard, Nick Wolfmeier, and Maddie Wolfmeier; dear brother of the late Dorothea Hudson; dear brother-in-law of the late Judy Schembri, treasured uncle of Judi (Steve) Fuller, Karen (Jim) Owen, Katie Schembri, Lisa Schembri, and the late Jerry Hudson; beloved uncle, great uncle, and friend.

Dale attended Washington University for two years before marrying his high school sweetheart. Dale and Kay had a kind and loving marriage of 58 years. Their love for each other was as strong on his last day as it was on the first day they met. He was the “captain of her heart” and she was his guiding light. He learned the trade of carpentry soon after high school when he worked at Guild Craftsman. Dale also proudly served in the United States Air National Guard. He spent most of his career at American Commission and eventually became a co-owner. Dale loved playing golf, racquetball, hiking and being outdoors. He and Kay enjoyed many adventures with lifelong friends. But the greatest joy in his life came from time spent with family-especially spoiling his grandchildren! He was a very Christian person and was kind to everyone he met. He had a charming smile and quick wit that always brought joy and lifted others up. Dale was a loving and caring son, husband, father and grandfather who loved his God and lived his faith. He was one of the all time greats – a gentle, loving soul who fought a long, hard fight and was no doubt greeted by a band of angels. Dale was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Dale's name to Disabled Veterans.
