Martha Ann Speckhals

Martha Ann Speckhals (nee Aholt) of St. Charles, MO, entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Sunday November 3, 2024 while at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Eugene Speckhals; cherished daughter of the late Ralph & Mary Aholt; devoted mother of Kevin (Libby), Kurt (Becky), Maria (Mat) Twiehaus; loving grandmother of Brooke, Emily, Paige, Abby, Jill, and Katherine; dear sister of Marylyn Monnig, Carolyn Speckhals, the late Jerry Aholt, Wayne Aholt, Therese Widmer, and Keith Aholt.

Martha, who was also lovingly known as Martha Ann, Mart, Marti, Mom and Grandma, was devoted to her family and a friend to all. She always tried to make everyone feel welcome and loved in her life. The house was always open to family and friends and she devoted her life with service to others. Whether that was volunteering at many charities over the years or welcoming you with a meal or plate of cookies at her house, she was there to help. She loved spending time with family and friends - just being together talking, playing games, puzzles or playing cards. 

As a lifelong Catholic, Martha was dedicated to her faith and was an active contributor to her parish community. She approached every situation with the motto, “always be nice, you never know what someone else is going through”. Even during her 6-8 year journey with Alzheimer's, she never lost her love for others and desire to help and please. 

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
