Martin F. “Skip” Unger III of House Springs, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the age of 68. Loving husband of Margaret E. "Margie" Unger; beloved son of the late Martin F. Jr., and Dorothy Unger; cherished father of Amanda (Tom) Dean, Andrea (John) Ostlund, and Amy (Ryan) de Rozario; devoted grandfather of Samantha Dean, Cali Ostlund, Emily Ostlund and Koan de Rozario; dear brother of Ronald Unger and Susan (Ron) Jacobsmeyer; fond uncle, cousin, nephew, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
Skip was an outdoorsman and master handyman, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and a passion for nature. He found his slice of heaven on earth at his cherished cabin in Cuba, Missouri, where he spent countless hours fishing, canoeing, and soaking in the beauty of the outdoors.
As a true adventurer, Skip achieved the remarkable feat of climbing the middle mountain of the Grand Tetons years ago, a memory he often recalled with pride. His love for fishing led him to the waters of Taneycomo each year, with some of his favorite friends, where he enjoyed the annual tradition of casting his line in the serenity of the lake.
Known to be a jack of all trades, Skip could fix just about anything and was always the first to lend a hand when someone was in need. His willingness to help, combined with his skill as a "Mr. Fix It," made him a friend and neighbor many counted on.
Above all, Skip was a family man. He and Margie built a beautiful family together and shared memories that will live on forever. His children and grandchildren brought joy into his life that will continue to shine as bright as the legacy he leaves behind.
Skip’s adventurous spirit, generous heart, and love for the outdoors will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
