Why do we sometimes look upon the falling
Leaves as drops of tears
When they could be our troubles scattering?
Why do we say the autumn of our years
When there must be an autumn for a spring?
Why must we curse the frozen earth
When it’s the frost that helps the seed
make a tree?
Spring too you see brings death as well as birth.
From Falling Leaves by John Raymond Groebl
