Mary Ann was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Manchester, MO for twenty years. She was very encouraging and sympathetic to others and took to heart being able to help others no matter the circumstance. Mary Ann used her experience as a young widow to minister to others in the same situation and helped churches start programs. She was very good about sending cards to loved ones and remembering their special times, if you were lucky you would even get a hand-made card on occasion. Many young people were able to come to her for advice and care, several people affectionately called her “Momma K.” Mary Ann hosted international students through the Rotary Exchange Program among the many others she took into her home over the years. She loved being social and always loved her Sundays when she could go to church. One of her favorite parts of church was the giving and receiving of hugs. Mary Ann always helped people get together for activities in the neighborhood. When she wasn’t busy helping others she loved to quilt, teach Bible Study, where she formed long lasting friendships, dance, play Bridge, and even Racquetball into her 70s. One of her greatest past times playing ping-pong with her grandkids, though she was so competitive that they didn’t get to win always. She ultimately was a fierce woman who believed if there was a will there was a way. Mary Ann was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
