Mary Pauline Cox, 89, passed away on May 5, 2023, in her home in St. Peters, Missouri. She was born October 30, 1933, in Moscow Mills, Missouri, to John Howard and Magdalene Peitzman.
She attended the little red schoolhouse in Moscow Mills and Buchanan High School in Troy. After graduating in 1951, she went to work at the Troy heel factory. She later worked at McDonnell Aircraft Corporation, Sears, and Western Union, before retiring in 1996.
She married Cameron Cox on March 23, 1957. During their marriage, they lived in New Mexico, California, Florida, and Texas before returning to Missouri in 1969. They resided in St. Peters since and raised their three children.
She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in O’Fallon. She loved to dance, scrapbook, and travel. She loved to fish, and always caught more fish than her husband.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chris Cox, her mother and father, and her siblings, Howard “Corky” Peitzman, Shirley Harke, and John “Skipper” Peitzman.
She is survived by her husband, and her children, Paula (John) Yorg, and Curtis Cox; grandchildren, Holly Yorg, Mindy Yorg, Anne Yorg, and Kyle (Maggie) Yorg; great grandchildren, Quinn and Ryann Emrich; and daughter-in-law, Angel Cox.
