Mary Ann Ell

Mary Ann (Achelpohl) Ell passed away at age 81 on March 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Donald “Donnie” Ell, and is survived by her daughter, Peg Skaggs (Randy), grandchildren Nathan Wright (Heather), and Emily Staples (Tommy), and by her great-grandchildren, Mark and Wyatt Wright, and Leighton and Ryker Staples. Also surviving are her sisters, Nancy Hollaway (the late Virgil) and Sue Eastman (Roger).

Mary Ann enjoyed throwing horseshoes, bowling, dice games, and playing cards with her friends. She and Donnie organized the horseshoe tournament at the St. Peter’s Olde Tyme Picnic for many years, as well as the Knights of Columbus bowling tournament every year. She was inducted into the St. Charles County Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. Mary Ann also enjoyed lunch outings on Main Street with her daughter and granddaughter, drinking wine and enjoying great conversation. She also sold Avon and loved to visit with people.

Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
