Mary Frances (Silence) Cornwell 93, loving wife of Robert Wayne Cornwell entered the presence of our Lord on October 24, 2017 after a long battle with dementia.
She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Bell) Silence. She was a resident of St. Peters, Missouri. In her early years, Mary worked as a nurse’s aide, she married Robert, her soulmate and best friend in September 1948 and they had 5 children.
Mary had a penchant for caring for her family. Whether it be cooking homemade meals, sneaking lemon drops and chocolate to her grandkids, or playing family games at the kitchen table, she always put her family first. She was a Godly example of a wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by 3 of her children, Charles, Jill, and Rob. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Robert Wayne Cornwell, her daughters Gail (Cecil Garland) Brown and Ellen (Bob) Parnas, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
