Brandt, Mary Frances, of St. Charles, died on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the age of 78. Beloved daughter of the late Porter and Helen Brandt; devoted mother of Bernard Robinson, Belinda Kaye Wilson, Cheryl Brandt, and Sedrick (Evern) Brandt; cherished grandmother of Rayleen Robinson, Franklin Brandt, Ebony Brandt, Sean Brandt, Jermey Brandt, Andrea Wilson, Deonte Hill, Lexi Brock, Brianna Barry, Ayanna Barry, Quincy Simpson, and Trevon Barry; treasured great-grandmother of Cedrick, Jonah, Tierria, Kayjia, Isaiah, Alianna, and Trevor; dear great-great-grandmother of Makenzie, Mayricio Nathniel, and Gavin; loving God mother of Ryan Steele; dear sister of Erma Wyatt of Wright City, MO and Vera Brandt of Chicago, IL; special friend of Christina Wilson, B.J., Palmette Henderson, and Clifford Moore, she got a kick out of the fact he called her Fat Albert. She was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Curtis Barry and her siblings Carol White, Paul Brandt, Henry Brandt, Harold “PeWee” Brandt, Frank Brandt, and Tibe Brandt, and her special friend Marva “Sissy” Donald. In her younger days Mary could beat James Brown at his own dance. She loved parties, barbeques, and spending time with her family and friends. She attended Franklin High School in St. Charles, MO. She worked as a house cleaner for 25yrs, then went to Emmaus homes for 29 yrs. Her final career was as a foster care grandparent, known as "Grandma Mary” for the St. Charles School District.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of St. John A.M.E. in St. Charles, MO. She was in love with the color red. She enjoyed listening to Johnny Taylor and other blues singers. Mary also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals games.
